The Raging Fire

From where i stood it look like the flames were swallowing the house. It was shocking because it looked like the house was deep fried by the hot burning sun.I called smell something really bad when ilooked at the ceeling thats why we quickly ran outside and tried to figure out what had happened.Thats when we realised it was actually globalwarming.it was so hotcould  could have drunk a whole elephant or Maybe two three. So we had to quickly run and sind shelter.CALLL 911 I said but know one had a phone .  it was so hot it made me want to jump into ice no then that would just be stupid.  Help help i yelled but everyone had evacuated the street so we had no other  choice but to find and find a way  to stop the fire from getting worser and worser. We used bucket but it didn’t work,We used hoses,it didn’t work  how are we going to put out this fire now .the whole street has disappeared. What do we need to help us stop this volcano  from erupting more and more, hotter and hotter. This would be a tough one to figure out .It was either me or the matches i had .I don't know so i try to rewind my mind but then a piece of wood fell of the roof and hit me ouchie hot hot.It was like the sun was haunting me for something i have done wrong .Bless the sun have  mercy on me.Wind whisling,Birds tweetinng as they try fly away from this enormous outraegous heat.As thirsty as an elephant in a drout there was still no way i could get hold of anyone or thing. Then as I was just about to faint a car drove past  me and i was chasingit to dee if he or she had a phone  to ring the fire departmen to help but no so i wiated  and waited for more and more cars to divev for help, then after about 12 cars  someone had actually brought a phone .But the bad news that we had to wait 30 minutes  the fire service take a long time to get here.So i tried to figure  something to do  while i was waiting ,Then after a while they finally arrived .Then they had a look through my house and said that it was. . . MY COOKING!!. do They said don't leave cooking unattended because then fires this harmful won't burn so much.I have learnt my lesson to not leave cooking unattended. because bad things can happened.

Tamaki River

Using Te Ara -
The Encyclopedia of New Zealand
1. Waitemata Harbour

L.I. Develop our knowledge of Auckland and the Tamaki River.
Familiarise ourselves with an online NZ encyclopaedia.
Use our skimming and scanning skills.

Use this link to open Te Ara

What sort of landform is the Waitemata harbour?   The waitemata habour is a river in Auckland it is also known as a drowned valley .

Why was it chosen to be New Zealand’s capital? It is because of its deep waters and because of its sheltered bays,.

What does Waitemata mean ? obsidian river or obsidian glass because of the ways it looks or flows

Tell me one interesting fact about each of these features of the Waitemata:
Auckland’s chief port -Auckland’s port on the Waitematā was vital to the progress of the city and region
Viaduct basin -The viaduct basin was redeveloped in the mid 1990’s when the new zealand yacht hosted the america's cup in 1999 and 2003
Westhaven -The Westhaven Marina, with 1,800 berths, is the largest managed marina in Australasia, and a symbol of Aucklanders’ love of sailing
Harbour bridge -In 1969 four outer lanes were added
Greenhithe bridge -The greenhithe was built in  1975 as an alternative crossing
Natural features -It was formed by lava flowing from the Three Kings eruption 20,000 years ago.
This is one of the library skills that I have done.It is about the Waitemata Haboru and the things we know about it.we are also learning about how people got around the tamaki estury

Tongariro eruption report

What is the title of your report?

The roar of the mountain
Introduction:
Introduce your topic by writing two interesting facts about the Tongariro eruption that will hook in the reader. Remember to explain what a volcanic eruption is.

Mt Tongariro has surged to life and has caused major damage.Thick layers of ash covers the sky and makes it hard for animals to breath.People say that it looks like a warrior spewing flames or  A bear filled with rage.
Second paragraph:  Write 3 sentences explaining what you can see/hear. Include the date/time it started and who is affected by it.

People can see ash coming out of its mouth and cars and some houses covered in the blanket of ash. They could hear  something that sounded like a earthquake. They were shocked and some people watched it,Unfortunately the pressure of some people builds up.
Third paragraph:
Write a paragraph telling your audience about 2 or 3 facts about what happened during the eruption.
People were running for cover as people were hiking up the mountains. As soon as people heard it they ran with shock. The animals were scared, for some it was a first time experience. There was difficult damage ad some damage hard to repair.Aeroplanes and cars were not allowed to leave util further notice.
Fourth paragraph:
Write a paragraph telling your audience what damage was caused and how the surrounding land/people were affected.

The damage that was caused was that it has harmed farmers animals even locals houses and cars were covered in the black blanket of ash.Even though they could not get the warning the sound of civilians running with fear would be the warning to run .
Fifth paragraph:
Write a paragraph telling what the people that live near Mt Tongariro think about what is happening. What did they do when they heard the first warnings
The people were   listening btu scientist were first to find out but no one knew what caused this warrior to erupt. It’s shocking news because no one knows and scientists are still figuring it out.The volcano caused significant damage to near tramping area
Conclusion:
End your information report with a recommendation that tells what next for those affected by the eruption.
The next time a volcano erupts remember to have safety equipment- ready for horrifying disasters
